How to increase the heat transfer

In a heat exchanger composed of ordinary steel pipes (smooth tubes), in many cases, the heat transfer coefficient of the fluid outside the tube and the fluid inside the tube to the tube wall is different. The so-called heat transfer coefficient refers to the heat transfer amount per unit heat transfer area and unit temperature difference (the temperature difference between the fluid and the wall). It represents the heat transfer capacity between the fluid and the wall. For example: The heat transfer coefficient when water condenses on the wall is: 10000-20000w/(m2. ℃) The heat transfer coefficient when water is boiling on the wall is: 5000----10000---- when the water flows through the wall The heat transfer coefficient is approximately: 2000----10000---- The heat transfer coefficient when air or flue gas flows through the wall is: 20----80---- The heat transfer coefficient when air is naturally convective is only: 5----10----

It can be seen that the difference in heat transfer capacity between the fluid and the wall is very different. Next, imagine an actual heat transfer situation: the inside of the tube is full of flowing water, its heat transfer coefficient is 5000 (----), and the outside of the tube is flue gas, its heat transfer coefficient is only 50 (-- --), the difference between the two is 100 times. When heat is transferred from the inside of the tube to the outside or from the outside to the inside of the tube, where does the "bottleneck" or "maximum resistance" of the heat transfer process occur? Of course, it is the flue gas side outside the tube, because the heat transfer coefficient of the flue gas side, that is, the lowest heat exchange capacity, limits the increase in heat transfer.

How can we increase the heat transfer of the round tube? One of the most effective methods is to use an extended surface on the outer surface of the tube, that is, on the flue gas side, that is, to make a finned tube. Assuming that the actual heat transfer area of the finned tube is several times the outer surface of the original smooth tube, although the heat transfer coefficient of the flue gas is still very low, the heat transfer effect reflected on the outer surface of the smooth tube will be greatly increased, so that the entire The heat transfer process is enhanced, and under the condition of a certain total heat transfer, the metal consumption of the equipment is reduced and the economy is improved.

What are the components of finned tube bundle?

The heat exchange unit composed of multiple finned tubes arranged according to certain rules is called finned tube bundle. A finned tube heat exchanger can be composed of one or more finned tube bundles. Understanding the finned tube bundles is helpful to the application of finned tube heat exchangers.   What are the components of finned tube bundle?   1. Multiple finned tubes: basic elements of heat transfer;   2. Tube box header or tube plate: connect the box, elbow or steel plate at both ends of the finned tube. When the finned tube is connected with the box or tube plate, the spacing between the finned tubes is fixed, and the tube box makes the fluid in the tube form a continuous flow channel;   3. Frame: support and fix the whole finned tube bundle.   The finned tube bundle is the main part of the air cooler, which is composed of finned tubes, tube boxes and frames. It is an independent structural whole. Its basic parameters include the tube bundle type (us...

ASTM A213 T22 extruded finned tube?

What is ASTM A213 T22 extruded finned tube? ASTM A213 T22 extruded finned tube is a heat exchanger tube with extruded aluminum fins on the outside surface, made from T22 grade steel, which is an alloy steel per ASTM A213 standard. The fins are extruded from the base tube, which increases the surface area and enhances heat transfer efficiency. These finned tubes are typically used in high-temperature and high-pressure applications, such as boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers in power plants or industrial settings. The T22 grade steel has good high-temperature strength and resistance to corrosion and oxidation. Why use ASTM A213 T22 extruded finned tube? ASTM A213 T22  extruded finned tubes  are used in applications where high-temperature and high-pressure resistance is required, such as in boilers and heat exchangers. The use of an extruded finned tube made of this material can improve the heat transfer rate by increasing the surface area of the tube, which enhanc...

H-shaped finned tube or square finned tube advantages

H-shaped finned tube or square finned tube advantages: H-shaped finned tube or square finned tube adopts a new welding process. A number of zigzag structures are used at the welding contact parts of the fins, so that the heating is uniform, the welding surface is uniform, and the surface is smooth. There is no slag inclusion, porosity and weld beading. The welding fusion rate is up to 97%. Due to the uniform heating, the compression plastic deformation generated in the welding process is reduced, the longitudinal residual tensile stress near the weld is reduced and the residual compressive stress borne by the fin far from the weld is greatly reduced, which can significantly reduce the wave deformation of the fin and make the welding quality of H-shaped fin tube meet the requirements of technical conditions.
